Hi there!

My name is Stefanie Barszowski, but I'm more commonly known as Steffie! I'm originally from a little town called Roslyn in Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia. Currently, I reside in Lansdale, PA.

My creative passions started as soon as I had the dexterity to hold a pencil. I grew up with my hands constantly into the art supplies, and was so drawn to any whimsical and imaginative movie or tv show. I wanted a giant magical peach to grow in MY backyard, and I wanted to live in Pee-wee's Playhouse! These fantastic worlds planted a seed in my little heart, which would grow into a need to carve and create new worlds myself!

I began my education at Montco, where I fell into the Theatre Production scene and was a carpenter and costume designer for school productions. During this time I was also working many positions at Roslyn Giant Food Store, including front end manager, department relief manager, and cake decorator. I credit my job at Giant for helping form my excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills!
In 2016 I completed my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts at Montco with Summa Cum Laude.

In my free time I have always been creating art, and taking fine art and mural commissions. In 2016 I landed a spot at Bettie Jack Gallery in Glenside, PA, and my art resided there for many years. However, I was yearning to pursue my Pee-Wee's Playhouse dreams and continue my education at a formal art college. In 2018, I made the huge decision to move to Savannah, GA and attend SCAD as an Animation major! I completed several Animation courses before deciding Production Design was a closer fit to my true calling. I had a blast in my classes and finally felt I had found my tribe! I was a prop fabricator, carpenter and scenic painter for several of SCAD's theatre productions, and SCAD's Scenic Shop quickly became my favorite place to be! So I was thrilled to be chosen above several dozen other students to become a Work-Study, but unfortunately missed the opportunity due to Covid. Nevertheless, I got to be the Production Designer for three student films, including designing, fabricating, painting and set dressing a Stop-Motion animation set for the documentary Ruth, as my Senior Project!
I graduated from SCAD in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Production Design (Art Direction and Set Design) with Summa Cum Laude.

Shortly after graduating I landed my dream job with Monkey Boys Productions, a local prop, puppet and special effects shop! I am currently working at MBP as a fabricator with a team of incredible artists! We make goods for clients across the globe, and also participate in making props for Saturday Night Live! each week! As a fabricator I utilize an array of skills including but not limited to sewing, sculpting, foam fabrication, mold making & casting, and painting.

I love any and all creative challenges, and I am continuously working on improving my skills, as well as learning new ones! I know the greatest art, collaborations and accomplishments of my life are still yet to come and I'm so excited for all of the creative adventure that awaits!!

If you spend any time with me, you'll quickly notice my love for all creatures, my infatuation with Beavis & Butt-Head, and that I love to smile!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know! Much love!
